American food could be described as the blending of cultures and having it being twisted into something unique. For instance, a common fast-food chain that is somewhat popular in the United States is Panda express, which is an American adaptation of Chinese food. From the CNN Travel list that was previously mentioned, almost half of the food on that list is and adaptation of some food either from South America, or from Europe. This might have stemmed from the fact that in the creation of the United States, the east coast was under control of the English crown, while the middle of the country was controlled by the French, and the west coast was controlled by the Spanish. It is because of this influence that the east coast has a palate similar to those in England, and the middle of the US has a palate more like the French, mainly through New Orleans, and the west coast has a more hispanic influence from both the population of hispanics being greater there and the preceding influences of the Spanish conquistadors. It is because if these preceding events that the food from the US is similar to other cultures, from difffernet regions of the world.
